Section 4: WRITING
This video deals with the second paper of Cambridge B2 First, that is, WRITING. You’ll learn about the two texts that you have to write and the differences in format and register between essays, reports, articles, letters/emails and reviews. You will also get some tips on how to plan your writing to optimise your time.
You have 1 hour and 20 minutes, that is 80 minutes, to write two texts.
The first text, part 1, is an essay of 140-190 words. This essay focuses on agreeing or disagreeing with a statement, giving information, opinion, reasons, comparing and contrasting ideas and opinions, and drawing a conclusion.
In part 2 you can choose between three tasks. They include: an article, an informal e-mail or letter, a formal e-mail or letter, a report, a review. You also have to write between 140-190 words.
